Arkells’ Max Kerman has made an unlikely friend in comedic legend Adam Sandler. The band’s song “Past Life” appears in Sandler’s new movie, You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah. Kerman took to TikTok to explain how it came to be.

He explained that he met Sandler’s assistant – who happens to be a huge Arkells fan – at a Dua Lipa concert.

“She looked at me and she [went], ‘Oh wait a second! You’re a Jewish guy who likes basketball. You should come by set, and hang out with Adam,'” Kerman recalled.

Two weeks after hanging out on set, Arkells got an email asking permission to use “Past Life” in the film.

“Adam Sandler, what a mensch,” Kerman said. “Like, what a nice thing! It was him, he chose the song.”
