Sum 41 have returned with their new song in two years! On Wednesday, they shared “Landmines”.

The song is the first off the band’s forthcoming album, Heaven :x: Hell. The record will mark the band’s final album before heading out on one last tour before disbanding. Both the album and tour are set for 2024.

Frontman Deryck Whibley explained that when he “wrote ‘Landmines’ I had no intention of writing an old school ‘punk song’. It just came out really quickly and I knew right away that this song felt special to me.”

In May 2023, Sum 41 announced that they would be disbanding after releasing one last album and completing a world tour.

“A lot of other people were retreating to things that made them feel good in the past,” Whibley told Rolling Stone at the time. “There’s some weird nostalgia that kicked in because of the pandemic. It all made sense to me why pop-punk is coming back: it’s feel-good music. There’s something that’s happy about it. Something young and innocent and free.”
