It’s Friday, which means it’s new music release day! These are some of the latest tracks you’ll hear on SONiC.

1. Djo – “End of Beginning”

Djo, also known as Joe Keery of Stranger Things, told Rolling Stone that “End of Beginning” is not about living in the past. “It’s really about appreciating your past and trying to live in the present and not look back on moments thinking, ‘I was only looking at the future. ‘”

2. Pearl Jam – “Wreckage”

“Wreckage” appears on Pearl Jam’s new album Dark Matter. Speaking with The Times, frontman Eddie Vedder explained the song is an appeal for unity. “There is a guy in the United States who is still saying he didn’t lose an election, and people are reverberating and amplifying that message as if it is true,” said Vedder.

“Trump is desperate. I don’t think there has ever been a candidate more desperate to win, just to keep himself out of prison and to avoid bankruptcy. It is all on the line, and he’s out there playing the victim – at least they’re doing this to me, because if not they would be doing it to you – but you haven’t falsified your tax records. You don’t have classified information in your basement.

“So the song is saying, let’s not be driven apart by one person, especially not a person without any worthy causes.”

Pearl Jam will play Rogers Arena on May 4 and 6.

3. Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats – “Heartless”

Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats’ new album South of Here will be released on June 28. Their frontman described his hope for the album. These recordings were done together in a room with my closest friends.I hope these songs and stories give you an opportunity to better understand your own struggles whatever they may be.”
